Our Mission
The mission of DCM is to provide Dordt University students with hands-on experience as investment managers under faculty supervision and guidance. DCM strives to achieve a competitive risk-adjusted rate of return relative to a designated benchmark portfolio. Emphasis is placed on managing within the context of Dordt University’s uniquely Biblical perspective.

Portfolio Growth
At the start of 2008, the DCM portfolio had a value of $17,115 split between two stocks (BAC, GRMN) and an ETF. As of 2025, the portfolio has grown to a balance of about $1,400,000 and holds around 30 stocks to distribute the portfolio’s risk.

Student Led
DCM allows all investment decisions to be made by the students, permitting students to learn in ways that are impossible in a classroom setting. The club’s advisors see student learning and experience as the primary goal and portfolio performance as an important but the primary goal.
